Ted Lindsay Award, Myros Trutiak, NHL/NHLPA Award

The Ted Lindsay Award is presented annually to the NHL’s “Most Outstanding Player,” as voted by the players themselves, making it the league’s only award determined solely by peer recognition. It continues the legacy of the Lester B. Pearson Award, first introduced in the 1970-71 season.

This prestigious honor reflects the highest level of respect among NHL players, recognizing the recipient as the most exceptional player of the regular season.

The award is named in tribute to Ted Lindsay, a legendary All-Star forward celebrated for his remarkable skill, relentless determination, leadership, and pivotal role in founding the original Players’ Association.
