Our Game, (17 ft.), bronze by Edie Parker, Hockey Hall of Fame at Yonge and Front Streets, Toronto, Ontario (1994) – 17′ x 1.5′ x 6.5′

Just a few steps from the “Team Canada ’72 Millennium Tribute,” the bronze sculpture Our Game pays homage to Canada’s love for hockey. Created by Canadian artist Edie Parker (formerly Edit Martinko) and commissioned by the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1993, the 17-foot piece depicts young players climbing over the boards, bursting with excitement to join the game. Inspired by a 1970s magazine advertisement, the sculpture captures the passion and energy that make hockey a cornerstone of Canadian identity.

Originally from Hungary, Parker immigrated to Canada at 19 and honed her craft at Mohawk College and the Ontario College of Art & Design. While working with Design Workshop Inc., under Ken Young’s leadership, she was chosen to create Our Game. The sculpture was cast and installed by MST Bronze Limited.

Standing prominently at the corner of Yonge and Front Streets, in front of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Our Game has become a cherished landmark, embodying the joy and tradition of hockey in Canada. Its presence is a humble yet enduring reminder of the sport’s impact on Canadian culture. It features five eager youths in full hockey gear waiting for their turn to play.
